Hey everyone,
It's December. So, like everyone else here, I'm waiting to hear back from a number of top-tier schools, including:
- Harvard
- MIT
- Kellogg
- UVA
Unfortunately, I was dinged at Kellogg, and I have a strong feeling I did not get an interview at the other 3. I think that I set my expectations too high.
I also applied to 3 other schools, but I do not expect to hear back until January:
- Duke
- UNC
- Vanderbilt
Here's my question... should I consider applying to some other programs in Round 2, to ensure I am accepted somewhere this year? Or, should I wait to see how the other applications work out?
Here's my profile:
Age: 27
Work Experience: 4.5 years in management consulting at a well-respected, but not big name, firm
GMAT: 700/90th percentile (Q/44/69%, V/41/92%)
Grades: 2.8 at top-20 undergraduate program in the US (BA - Political Science)
Essays: very good (addressed my low GPA, non-traditional work experience in the music business, community service experience, and interest in entrepreneurship)
Any suggestions on other schools to apply to? I'm considering Georgetown and UT-Austin, but I'm now worried that they will not provide enough of a safety net, since I have not put in much recruiting time at those schools.
