Hi,
I am done with my GMAT and scored 720 (Q49, V39). This was my 2nd attempt. I scored badly in the 1st attempt(610 - Q49, V25). I never expected this much score and because of this reason I had planned to apply to only MS Fin programs (thinking that it is easier to get into MS Fin of a Univ as comapred to MBA of the same Univ).
Now I am confused, all I want is to get into a good Univ be in it MS Fin or MBA program. Please evaluate my profile and let me know of the best option.
GMAT - 720 (Q49, V39)
Work Exp - 3.5 years (will be 4+ by the time I start my school)
Break up 1.5 years (IT - India) - worked as a Business Analyst
1.5 years (IT - US) - worked as a Business Analyst
Around 6-7 months (IT+Finance - India) - - working as a Business Analyst for a BIG US Comapny (Into ommercial Finance)
I know people choose btw MS Fin/MBA depending upon their interests, I want to be an investment banker as i love maths and figures. So kindly evaluate my profile and suggest.
I will really appreciate if somebody can help me with this.

A Master's in Finance is a way to strengthen your background in the subject. Depending on the program and the MBA you are comparing it to, it will possibly offer higher-level courses in quantitative finance than an MBA which offers a more diverse mix of courses to suit the varied interests of its students. However, a Master's in Finance traditionally has fewer takers than an MBA. This translates to fewer employers on campus, making it slightly harder to secure a job after graduation.
On the other hand, if you are keen on being an investment banker, MBA and then Investment Banking is an established career path, and one that comes with many recruitment opportunities both during and after MBA. If your main reason for pursuing an MBA is to obtain an investment banking job, I would recommend an MBA over MS Finance.
