I am a 31 year old female (32 at admission).
Undergrad from India in Electronics Engineering 68.5%
MS is Electrical Engineering from University of South Florida. 3.81 GPA
PhD in EE from same university 3.81 GPA
3.5 years industry experience at a major Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.
Had to resign job due to personal circumstances. (Husband and I live in 2 different cities. Have a 6 month old and very difficult to care for her alone). So I quit my jon to join my husband.
Good progress in job.
Did not take GMAT yet.
Extracurriculars: Well trained Classical singer.
Community Work: Tutored physically handicapped children in Math and Sciences.
Please evaluate and tell me my chances of getting into:
UCSD, UCIrvine, UCLA, USC, UC Riverside

For the schools you mentioned, it really comes down to the GMAT. Shoot for at least a mid-600s or better (and ideally above 700) and you should be competitive.

I will have a 1 year gap in my employment. Will this be a factor? I am actively searching for jobs also while preparing for GMAT. But it is difficult find one especially because I need sponsorship.
