Hi Alex,
Before I get carried away, I was hoping for your input on where I might fit in the applicant pool. Planning to apply in first rounds in this fall.
Profile: 28 yrs old, white, male, Canadian
Undergrad: B.Comm from your undergrad alma-mater (75% average –reflective of effort)
GMAT: 780 (Q49, V50): does this help with my undergrad scores?
Other qualifications: Chartered Accountant, CFA Level III Candidate
Work Experience: 5.5 years at a second tier public accounting firm working in Corporate Finance/M&A advisory in both Canada and Australia. Steady promotions, high level of responsibility, great exposure (in my opinion) and will have strong recommendations from superiors. Not a big-4 name, but not an unknown.
Other: Active in many work-related events and committees (including mentorship and leadership groups), well balanced life outside work but no stand out volunteer/non-profit experience. Heavily involved in University clubs/activities if that matters.
The current plan includes applying to: Wharton, Chicago, Columbia, MIT, and Yale (but not set in stone). So, what do you think about the school choices?
I really appreciate your time and any guidance. Thanks, Alex.
