Hi Linda,

Thanks for your reply. Due to family and visa constraints I wont be able to apply for schools right way. These factors arent under my control and I hope to apply in about 2 years time.

About my GMAT, do you thing raising it by 30-40 points would significantly increase my chances at the top 5 schools. I really dont think I would be able to pull off a 770 or a 780. This being the case do you think it's worthwhile putting in time again for the GMAT or would I be better off working on other areas

Since I have about 2 years time, what are things I can probably do to increase my chances at a top 5 school. Based on my technology and non-profit goals what schools do you think would be a good fit for me

Thanks.

I understand.

I do think raising your GMAT to the 740 range could make a big difference given your demographic. I would also encourage you to focus on schools with higher average age at matriculation.

To improve your chances the best thing you can do is raise your GMAT and continue doing what you've been doing -- excelling at work and actively contributing to your community. It's not clear to me if you have this or not, but if you can get international exposure on the job that would help you, and finally if you can move into more of a business and less of a technical role, that would also help. But mostly you just have to do more of the excellent work you have started to do.

Best,
Linda
