Hi guys,
Thanks for ur replies ! I have done a lot of research on various global B-Schools ranked in "Forbes Top 10" and "WSJ Top 20" (SDA Bocconi features in both the above rankings) and and talked to alumni of SDA Bocconi and other bschools found that SDA Bocconi is a great school! A few reasons being:
1. Its globally no.17 in WSJ - Recruiter's choice just after Wharton which is no.16 and way above Stanford (no. 29).
2. Its a one-year bschool with a great emphasis on diverstiy - something that enrichs your MBA experience and makes a huge huge saving on your second year opportunity cost.
3. It has the Milan advantage - A major financial hub of the world. And has great brand name in Europe and USA.
4. It has a very very eminent faculty esp in finance and strategy and marketing
5. QS Global 200 Business Schools 2009: The Employer's Choice - places it in Europe's top 10 and 9th in finance in the world.
I am delighted and eagerly looking forward to join the school!

Congrats with your admission and your scholarship! But this is my two cents:
SDA Bocconi is a great school but it is only well known in Italy and some parts of Europe (SDA Bocconi is ranked only 24th in Europe by FT). If you go to SDA Bocconi but you are planning on living and working in the US, you might have a harder time finding a job. American companies mostly hire LBS graduates because they only know LBS! LOL Of course, there are more European b-schools like INSEAD, IESE, etc that are getting a reputation in the US but SDA Bocconi is not one of them.
In addition, American companies look for graduates from the AACSB accredited schools. Schools that have triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA) are the most valuable. Furthermore, AACSB is the oldest accreditation that originated in the US. Therefore, no surprise that American companies want their employees from the AACSB accredited business schools. Unfortunately, SDA Bocconi is not AACSB accredited (only AMBA and EQUIS).
I have never heard of anyone going for two MBAs unless it is a dual degree (but I believe it is usually with a Master's program). In my opinion, that would be a total waste of time and money! You can make more post graduate in a year than the tuition waiver is worth! Also, b-schools value working experience more than extended education. The second MBA school might not even admit you, if they see you having an MBA already. So better make up your mind and go for the school that is best for you instead of wasting your time on wrong schools.
You might want to look at the exchange program at SDA Bocconi. I am not familiar with it but if you can do an exchange semester with the school in the US that might help. But SDA Bocconi might have only a limited option for the US schools.

As a general rule of thumb, it's easier to find employment in the area that your school is in - the school is better known in that area, the school has a strong relationship with local companies and recruiters, etc. However, it is not always possible. Even at My MBA Admit, we have consultants from top programs around the world who have relocated to New York.
However, if you are going to relocate, it makes sense to have the strongest brand name possible on your resume. Although SDA Bocconi is a good school, it hasn't yet attained the same brand name recognition as a LBS from UK, for example.
In your case, you mentioned consulting as a career option immediately after MBA, with an eventual move to IB (if you don't get in the field immediately). If this is the case, another course of action to pursue could be entering Bocconi right now, and focusing on recruiting for consulting positions throughout your program. I have had classmates at University of Chicago Booth who recruited for consulting positions at top companies like McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc. at locations outside the United States. You could follow the same route by recruiting for consulting positions from Bocconi for locations within the United States. Since visa/residency status is not a problem due to your marriage to a US Citizen, this could be a viable option that would allow you to take advantage of the full tuition waiver and still start your MBA this year.
However, if you are absolutely keen on going into IB immediately after MBA, being from an university such as Bocconi that doesn't have the same strong relationships as say, a Wharton, Columbia or Chicago, could make the process slightly harder for you. Being in Italy while the jobs are in New York or the West Coast, could make it still harder. In that case, it may make sense to spend a year strengthening your resume, and applying to US b-schools next year. This would give the US job market, especially for I-banking, an extra year to recover as well.
In summary, your choice depends on your post-MBA career goals. I don't think it makes sense to do multiple MBAs as much as it does to choose a single program that best meets your requirements.
