Hi, I am a
29 years old female, working with a KPO of a leading consulting Firm as a Finance Analyst. I have a post qualification experience of 4 years after my MBA from a not-so-good b-school. I now want to enhance my career path by doing an executive MBA. I would like to know my chances of getting selected if I manage a GMAT score of 700+.
My academics have been average and have not been very involve with extra curricular activities. This might sound as if I have bever worked hard but thats not the case. I come from a background where no one had ever heard of an MBA when I decided to go for one. I went for an MBA just after my graduation (BBA) because the circumstances were such that there was no time to even think about a job that time. My actions were largely impacted by adverse family conditions till the time I got into MBA but after 4 years of work experience, I know that I want to go for an MBA that I could actually utilize to enhance my career.
Can someone please guide me on whether I should try for an executive MBA, at all, given the ordinary profile that I carry ?
Thanks
Priyanka
Hi Priyanka,
Congratulations on obtaining the first MBA degree. It sounds like you had a lot of challenges to overcome to complete your MBA. In spite of all those, still achieving your goal is remarkable. Nice work!
Before guiding you on whether to obtain an executive MBA, I wonder if you have a well-defined set of post-MBA career goals in mind. When you say enhance your career, do you have a set ambition that you were thinking of achieving? This is extremely important for all applications, and more so in your case, since you have to demonstrate that your goals have led you to decide to pursue a second MBA, since the first MBA could not help you achieve them.
Based on that, we could help you figure out what kind of program will be the best fit, the schools that you are competitive at, as well as how to best explain your previous MBA and reasons driving you to obtain a second one.
If you are just starting the MBA application process, I would recommend our
