All this talk about Harvard getting younger and younger is concerning. I hear stories of people with 2 years of experience as ideal (just hearsay). I'm applying after 3 years of experience (4 years when I enroll). Would I actually be considered "old"?

GPA: >3.9 from Top 3 Engineering School
GMAT: 770
Industry: Bulge Bracket Investment Banking First now Venture Capital
Leadership: Founding Committee of a PE group and an angel investing group for my alma mater.
What are my chances? What else can I improve on in addition to essays/recs? Thanks!

Dear Charm,
Not at all! Your stats and work experience are competitive for HBS, but don't apply exclusively to HBS. You don't mention community service or extra-curriculars. I realize that IB doesn't leave a lot of time for that, but a lot of your competition will have it. And so should you.

For extra-curriculars, the work I'm doing for the angel investing group and alum club involves organizing due diligence meetings, planning quarterly events, organizing seminars, etc. - all not for pay. Do I have to have traditional "community service" like working at a food bank (maybe bad example, but you get the idea) in addition?
Also, I only did IB for 1 year, will have 3 years of VC experience (not sure if that changes anything).
