1. Age : 30
2. Work Experience : 5 years(India)
3. Industries Worked in : Biotechnology
4. Function : Production and Quality Assurance
5. Designations in chronological order : Trainee, Executive officer-production, Acting Quality Assurance in-charge in the current company
6. Education : Masters in Technology (2005), Bachelor in Pharmacy (2003)
7. GMAT : Verbal-32 , Quant-44, Overall- 620, AWA-5.0. Given in Oct 2008
8. Academics: First class in bachelors as well as masters (Good by Indian education standards) However i had one year break during bachelors (Grey area in my application) and one year break after 12th grade, which is not worrysome.
9. Target schools- 1 year Executive MBA IIM-Ahmedabad, 1 year Executive MBA ISB, Hyderabad and may be more 2 year MBA schools e.g. Rotman
10. Extra-circular activities:
a. Teaching volunteer for 6 months for children at an NGO- dont have certificate to prove it
b. 3rd prize state level essay writing competition
c. Inter-collegiate quiz finalist
d. Winner interschool science quiz competition
e. Best marketing trainee award (West region) from Pfizer during the training program- dont have a certificate to prove it
Professional achievements:
1. Successful WHO audit and launch of Hib vaccine
2. Successful Indian FDA inspection in current company
Questions -
1. Whether i should re-appear for GMAT, and if yes then ideally how much should i score.
2.How good my profile looks despite the one year break in my bachelors and in the pool of applications, would my application catch the attention of the admission committee?
3. Does the one year break make my profile uncompetitive?

To answer your questions:
1. Yes, I would definitely recommend retaking the GMAT. There's no magic number, but ideally you can at least score in the high 600's or low 700's. At that level your score ceases to be a liability for you.
2. Your profile is okay now, but not amazing. For example, you have lots of EC involvement, but not much in the way of true community IMPACT. You've competed in quizzes, taught some, and won some prizes, but have you lead a project to better your community? That's the type of EC example that really gets admissions officers excited.
3. It's not a deal breaker, but you will have to provide an explanation for it.
