Nationality - Indian , IT male
GMAT - 660 (49Q, 31V)
Undergrad GPA - 6.5/10 (Top 10 Engineering College in India)
Work Experience :
9 years ( 3+ years in a managerial role, 5 years Int exp)
Currently working for a large Indian IT firm as a program manager. Have been my business unit's anchor in a Client account for the last 3 years and have held bottom-line responsibility for revenues of $6+ Million.
- Managed a peak team size of 60 ( 17 direct reportees, 43 - extended offshore team)
- Have led multiple RFP responses and proposals ranging from 250K - $2 Million
- Lead the recruitment initiative for my company in my location and coordinated over 100 interviews.
- Have recevied Star award, Excellence award , nominated for Most Valuable Project Manager in my company
- Was nominated for Employee Excellence award in my Client company, but couldn't get it as Client Corporate decided not to award it to a consultant(Will be able to get Client Manager to mention this in his Reco). But have a couple of appreciations from Client VP, AVP, Directors.
- Have Completed 7 Technical and 1 Project Management Certifications
- Formed a small granite export business (part-time) based out of India with 3 other partners primarily focused on the Middle East market. Shut down the business after 1 year by end of 2008 when demand dropped considerably during global meltdown.
Extra Curricular :
During Undergrad
- Students Union Chairman during my final year (Got elected for the post in college general elections, student body strength - 5000+)
- Organized and Led a 3 day Inter-college cultural event with participation from around 20 colleges from all over India. Managed everything right from conceptualization, getting corporate funding to conducting the event.
- Organized and led intra-college cultural event
- Led a student body movement and finally met with the City mayor to have squatters removed and relocated from the university campus.
- Worked with the University Hostel Board to setup scholarships for underprivelaged students
- Vice President for University Leo Club during my third year
- Unversity Hostel Leader for first year students during my first year
Others
- Played Tennis regularly for 3 years at a local club. Formed and led a beginner level tennis team and participated regularly in league competitions. (we were runnersup one year in state level USTA leagues)
- Was captain of volleyball for company account team in intra-company sports events. Play volleyball regularly.
- Played racquetball regularly for a year the local gym.

- I am planning to retake the GMAT again. I was consistently scoring 730+ in all my GMAT practise exams but panicked in the real GMAT today and ran out of time during Verbal. I am confident that I will be able to get 700+.
Question.
I would like to get into INSEAD, IMD, LBS, Harvard or Standford, but based on my low GPA and profile, do I stand a chance in any of these programs even if I take the GMAT again and score a 700+?

If your end up with a 700+ GMAT, Harvardand Stanford are still unlikely acceptances. Focus your attention on programs with higher average levels of experience, like LBS, INSEAD, and IMD. Other US schools to consider if your GMAT ends up as anticipated Ross, Darden, Kellogg, Haas.
Tip: Sharpen your short-term post-MBA goal.
