Indian dude with a CFA, MS in Finance and working at a hedge fund -- do you really think your math skills are what adcoms worry about? Do you really think that adcoms are looking for the greatest Asian math geniuses to fill their MBA ranks?
Just think about it for a sec. If you're this math guy and you're worried about trying to boost your GMAT quant percentile from 81% to 90%+, what do you think is the greater concern? Hint: it isn't about your math skills.
Here's another thing to consider. Even in a profession such as yours (finance), at the junior levels and technical levels it sure is about the math. But if you're a partner, MD, etc. is it really about the math? Or are these people hiring others to do the math for them? If it isn't really about the math then at these senior levels, then what is it about?
This isn't just directed to you - but it seems to be a common blind spot amongst so many Asian applicants I come across - your math skills are the last thing they're looking for, and by focusing on the math, you only bring out the negative connotations and deficiencies of those who are very quant oriented.
