Hello,
I am currently 28 years old and I would much prefer to start b-school in January, as opposed to waiting until next September. That, together with currently living in NYC, my wife being employed in NYC, and my age, make the CBS accelerated program very attractive to me. In addition, I have been in private equity for over 3 years now and have no desire to change fields, so I believe that makes the accelerated program attractive, as well.
My question regarding the January intake is: while I understand the typical premise of 'earlier is better', would applying for January intake in, say, mid-to-late September be the equivalent of applying Round 3 of a typical app cycle? The alternative is obviously to apply ED for the Sep '11 intake, but I would prefer to start sooner, if possible.
From a stats perspective, think: 700+ GMAT, good work experience in PE, good rec letters, good essays. The timing of my application to the J-term is my primary concern.
Thanks in advance for your insight.
