I am bachelor of IS, course which blends business and computer studies(3.94 gpa)
since then i have worked as web programmer in my own organization and created many web applications
i am planning to do either MBA(IS) ,IT or some similar degree or MS which includes computer and business in USA.
i am planning to take gmat with in 1 month (as i think this is enough for me!) but said part of the story is i think i will score around 600 only .....
as it has been 3 yrs out of school i think i should join any college now.
So i want to know
which colleges may be good for me...?(college with MBA(IS),IT and so on)
will 600 be good enough for admission (gpa 3.94)...?
will i be able to get scholarship(partial) in any of college or universities...i have heard some universities of texas and albama do provide scholarship based on gpa and all...(but if possible i don’t want to go there as American MBA is all about reputation ...it is said that mba's of some universities is no good than not having it...means no reputation after graduation...)
My thinking is that, i will have good change applying for GA as i have intl certification in programming and i have been working in it from around 8 years now.(even before undergrad).
Am I right to think so?
but if i apply for mba, is there any chance of me being considered for GA in may be web or IT department?(or they consider business students in these departments?)
I have been lecturer in university of my country from last 3 years, can it of any use? how may i use it...?(means just for CV or i can try/apply for something others if possible..)
i have been really preparing for long time now and i really dont know "should i still keep on preparing and look for 700+..." or i should stop it now and apply in one of the universities...
sad thing is the preparation is disturbing my business and career development as it normally may not be useful in my real life(for eg preparing co-ordinate geometry, may be Sentence correction will be that vital after GMAT is over...) rather than that if i can concentrate on real thing (real mba, programming) i think it will be better
cost of not taking gmat (hoping to get better marks) is higher than cost of taking it now...(that is what i have started feeling)
So I have decidied to take gmat, though I may get around 600, and then apply for some universities for January session(2011) and try my best
Am I right in thinking so, what do you suggest? How should I go?
so please help with information.....
Good gmat score has been really big problem for me and I have prepared for almost a year now and I don’t think I should be preparing for it for years(some of my friends have completed their masters)
I really need it now to make correct decision or ease my decision making process...
Lack of information has been my big problem ...i dont know I will be able to get to admission,scholarship,GA....(i know it differs from one university to another university) but at least in general circumstance...
If i don’t get any scholarship or GA is there any other way i will be able at least pay the fees(i have heard there are some on campus job for intl students...but i dont know it will be enough for not...).Making money is not my intension now.(I think I will be able live good life even being in my current position in my country but having said that it is said that man should always look for better…)
if all fails, are there any colleges of moderate fee structure(off course which doesn’t have that bad reputation) that i should/can apply for?
if all fails i have been planned to do masters in my own country as I will get full scholarship in any of the universities here as i was topper of my university in undergraduate(but off course mba of my country may have intl valuation or any such reputations and it will be same routine learning now new things ....)
I think it is not that i dont study and labour hard.I think the reason i am not being able to get good gmat score difference in style or teaching & learning in schools of different countries compared to US style...we never took math in this style and english being our second language, our primary motive always use to be conveying information but gmat actually seeks for best way.) and i think what i have learned in 16-17 years cannot be changed with in some months....i may be able to do it in many years but i cannot just keep preparing for gmat as my ultimate degree for now is MBA not GMAT...that has been biggest problem
any way please help with suggestion
