Hello,
From the perspective of an international Student who wants to stay working in the United states which one would be a best option?
Everybody knows that MBA are a huge investment for most, and staying for some time in the US is sometimes the only way to get a ROI. Now there are certain MBA which are stem certified (Simon) or have stem certified majors (Fuqua).
Without the stem certification international students can only work up to 12 months, which in case you do a 12 week summer internship, leaves you with only 9 months on work post mba. You can then apply for a H1b visa, but this is a lottery system, so you may or you may not end up being granted a Visa.
In case you study a stem certified program, you can extend the OPT period for a total of 36 months, with allows you to work almost 3 years post MBA without a visa. And moreover, it allows you to apply for the H1b visa 3 times, multiplying the possibilities of your name being chosen in the lottery.
Right know I am preparing my gmat, once I have my results I will know more or less which range of schools I can target. But when the decision comes, what would be a better option?
Examples:
Wharton/Harvard/booth/columbia vs Fuqua
Mccombs vs Wisconsion
Rice vs simon
