Did you made a typo in answer e. U are also talking about past perfect but in neither answer choice i see a past perfect tense.

yeah..it was by mistake...

made changes in answer (D) and (E) .

That book is good but not so good. It has a lot of errors and mistakes.

Use other sources, I would suggest.

I am using it for practice purpose only...Can you suggest any books (especially for Verbal) for practicing other than OGs , Total GMAT by Jeff Sackmann (For Maths) and 1037 questions by Princeton ?

I reckon one should stick with official guides with verbal. I mean Verbal is not as concrete as math is , You can verify answers in math but not in verbal you have to take authors word for it.

I would suggest using OG , official verbal guide2 , and buy extra 200 questions in gmat test prep software.

When two events happened in the past we have to show which event happened first .
So use of had is required
