Pretty straight forward if you are clear on MODIFIERS.

King of Babylonia in the 18th century BC is a noun modifier, and should be followed by what it modifies. The name of the king is the most logical noun, and only D does that. E makes the noun as Hammurabi's legal code.

Hello,

I got this answer right, but can you explain why semicolon is used instead of Full stop. will the sentence be wrong if I use full stop. what are the other ways to connect two independent sentences.

Modifier + comma + subject (intended to modify)

Here modifier is King of Babyloinia, Subject shall be Hammurabi

Only D satisfy the criteria.
