in option A, can someone tell me how
appeals to human minds with scientific bend, which are is correct. Here which can refer to scientific band , hence which are is wrong

I wouldn't try to study from this highly unofficial question. First, the GMAT isn't going to give us questions that refer to some unspecified idea from another sentence ("this distinction"). Second, the idiom here is incorrect. It should be "with a scientific bent."
