Why is Goswami featuring on GMAT questions? :P

Between A and D, I picked D over A because A talks about entire Ergon Foods rather than just the striking workers which is the scope of this passage. The rest are pretty easy to eliminate.

Hi putul22

It is quite right to get confused between A and D. But then how to eliminate one of them. In such scenarios, I would ask you to pay more attention to words both in premises and in option choices.

Now, Goswami says that the majority of them make less than 20,000$. therefore, they are underpaid.

But then Nordecki says that the average annual salary is 29,000$. therefore, he disagrees.

So, both are not talking about average salary as clearly, Goswami is not talking about it. So, we are left with Choice D.

Let me know if it helps.

b) Pay is the primary issue over which the workers are striking at Ergon Foods.

A very obvious give away is the usage of the word "primary". Nowhere it is mentioned in the passage that pay is the PRIMARY issue. Goswami believes they are underpaid whereas Nordecki does not. So pay is definitely one issue, but whether it is the primary issue is not the topic of disagreement.

Hope this helps.

This is a good question.

From Nordecki, we can understand that he/she may agreee that they are striking because they are underpaid, what she cannot agree that they are actually unerpaid.
