To solve this question just read the graph carefully- the sum of the following values, 75 percent, is represented by 1200 flights so

x(3/4) =12000
3x= 48000
x= 16000

16000-12000= 400

Thus
"D"

According to the chart, we see that 43 + 17 + 12 + 3 = 75%, or ¾, of the total flights were delayed. If we let T = the total number of flights, we have:

(3/4)(T) = 1200

3T = 1200 x 4

T = 400 x 4 = 1600.

Since 100 - 75 = 25%, or ¼, of the flights were on time, 1/4 x 1600 = 400 flights were on time.

Total percent of flights departed late = 43 + 17 + 12 + 3 = 75% of the total.

Also, delayed flights = 1200

Thus, total flights = 1200/75% = 1600.

Thus, the flights on time = 1600 - 1200 = 400.

The correct answer is D.
