 = 1.50 + .5*3

Remaining number of wheels is 16
but each of the other axles have 4 wheels on each of them
so remaining number of axles =  \frac{16}{4}  = 4 axles
so the truck has 5 axles in total i.e x= 5
substituting this value in given formula
T = 1.50 + 0.50( x − 2)
T = 1.50 + 0.50 (5 - 2)
T = 1.50 + 0.50 * 3
T = 1.50 + 1.50 
T = $3.00
