If the volume of a ball is 32,490 cubic millimeters, what is the volume of the ball in cubic centimeters? (1 millimeter = 0.1 centimeter)

(A) 0.3249
(B) 3.249
(C) 32.49
(D) 324.9
(E) 3,249

This is not a 700 level question. I have changed the tag to sub-600 level and added the complete source information.

As for this question, remember that 1 cm = 10 mm

Thus, \(32490 {mm}^3 = 32490 * 10^{-3} {cm}^3 = 32.49 {cm}^3.\)

C is thus the correct answer.

Hope this helps.

Apologies, I intended to categorize it as 600 level. This question is #126 out of 175 in OG Quant 2016.

hi there :)

is my approach correct ?

1 cm = 10 mm

10 cm = 100 mm

100 cm = 1000 mm

hence:

32,490 / 1000 = 32.49

\(1\) \(millimeter\) = \(\frac{1}{10}\) \(centimeter\)

So, \(1\) \(millimeter ^3\) = \((\frac{1}{10})^3\) \(centimeter^3\)

So, 32,490 cubic millimeters = \(\frac{32,490}{1000}\) \(centimeter^3\)

Answer must be (C) 32.49

Simply since unit given is mm cubed and we want cm cubed, also conversion is given
Using basic unit conversion concept, multiple by conversion factor per unit exponent,I.e. 32490*01.*0.1*0.1= Ans

1 centimeter = 10 millimeter

10 mm * 10 mm * 10 mm = 1 cm * 1 cm * 1 cm

\(1000 mm^3 = 1 cm^3\)
\(1 mm^3 = \frac{1}{1000} cm^3\)
\(\frac{32,490}{1000} = 32.49 cm^3\)

1 millimeter = 0.1 centimeter

1 cubic millimeter \(= 0.1*0.1*0.1=0.001\) cubic centimeter

The volume of the ball in cubic centimeter \(= 32,490*0.001 = 32.49\)

The answer is C

Now 1 mm = 0.1 cm

Volume = 32490 mm3
= (0.1)^3*32490
= 32490/1000
= 32.49 cm3
