What is the average of 1/2, 2/5 and 3/10?

A. 1/5
B. 3/10
C. 2/5
D. 1/2
E. 6/5

Notice that a common denominator can be set up rather quickly- 5/10, 4,10 , 3,10 - just take the average of the numerator - 5 + 4 + 3 /3 = 4/10 = 2/5

Thus

"C"

What is the average of 1/2, 2/5 and 3/10?

A. 1/5
B. 3/10
C. 2/5
D. 1/2
E. 6/5

\(\frac{1}{2}\), \(\frac{2}{5}\) and \(\frac{3}{10}\) = \(\frac{5}{10}\) , \(\frac{4}{10}\) , \(\frac{3}{10}\)

Thus, average is \(\frac{5+4+3}{10*3}\) = \(\frac{2}{5}\)

Thus, answer will be (C)

What is the average of 1/2, 2/5 and 3/10?

A. 1/5
B. 3/10
C. 2/5
D. 1/2
E. 6/5

The average is:

(1/2 + 2/5 + 3/10)/3

Multiplying the entire expression by 10/10, we have:

(5 + 4 + 3)/30 = 12/30 = 2/5
