x+y+z=5
y+Z+5=7 =>y+z=2
z+5+7=16=>z=4
so y=-2
therefore x+y =3-2=1
x+y+z=5
y+Z+5=7 =>y+z=2
z+5+7=16=>z=4
so y=-2
therefore x+y =3-2=1

lets start from z, as per the question stem
z + 5 + 7 = 16
-->> z= 4
similarly, y + 4 + 5 = 7
--> y = -2
similarly,, x + -2 + 4 = 5
--> x = 3
hence , x+y = 3-2 = 1
option c
z + 5 + 7 = 16
-->> z= 4
similarly, y + 4 + 5 = 7
--> y = -2
similarly,, x + -2 + 4 = 5
--> x = 3
hence , x+y = 3-2 = 1
