What is the decimal equivalent of (1/4)^2?

A. 0.0016
B. 0.0625
C. 0.16
D. 0.25
E. 0.5

(1/4)² = (1/4)(1/4)= 1/16

Two approaches from here.

APPROACH #1: use long division to divide 16 into 1 to get 1/16 = 0.0625

APPROACH #2: recognize that 1/100 < 1/16 < 1/10
In other words: 0.01 < 1/16 < 0.1
Only one answer choice (B) lies between 0.01 and 0.1

A. 0.0016
B. 0.0625
C. 0.16
