5 percent of 120 cases of spring water = 0.05*120 = 6
10 percent of 80 cases of sparkling water = 0.10*80 = 8
so 14 bottles to be tested for both cases
percent of all the cases must the bottler test before it can send the water out = 100*(14/(120+80)) = 1400/200 = 7%
Hence Option B is correct

This question is essentially just about doing the necessary arithmetic, but if you were low on time then you can use a logic 'pattern' to quickly eliminate a bunch of answers and take a good educated guess.
Since the bottler has to 'test' 5% of the spring water and 10% of the sparkling water that it sends out, IF there were equal numbers of spring water and sparkling water, then the bottler would need to test (5% + 10%)/2 = 7.5% of the bottles. However, the prompt tells us that there are MORE bottles of spring water being sent out than bottles of sparkling water being sent out, so the average has to be LESS than 7.5%.... so you can eliminate Answers C, D and E.
To find the exact answer, we need to calculate....
5% of 120 bottles = (.05)(120) = 6
10% of 80 bottles = (.1)(80) = 8
Total = 14 out of 200 bottles = 14/200 = 7/100 = 7%
