A man is a climbing up a 100-foot high mountain. Each day he climbs 30 feet but then falls 20 feet. How long does it take him to reach the top assuming that once he reaches the top he does not fall?

I started by considering that in the last day he will climb 30ft without falling back, which means that if he arrives at 70ft than it will take one more day to reach the top.
Hence, since he climbs at a "net" ratio of 10ft/day, it will take him 7 days to reach the 70ft mark, and one more day to reach the top. Therefore, it'll take him 8 days to reach the top.
So, IMO the answer should be B.

Day 1 = 30 ft - 20 ft = 10 ft rise
Day 2 = 40 ft - 20 ft = 20 ft rise
Day 3 = 50 ft - 20 ft = 30 ft rise
Day 4 = 60 ft - 20 ft = 40 ft rise
Day 5 = 70 ft - 20 ft = 50 ft rise
Day 6 = 80 ft - 20 ft = 60 ft rise
Day 7 = 90 ft - 20 ft = 70 ft rise
Day 8 = 100 ft
Thus, the man will reach 100 ft mountain in 8th day....
Hence, answer will be (B) 8th day..
