In a graduating class of 240 students, 80% apply to college. Of the students who apply to college, 75% actually attend college. How many students from the graduating class attend college?

A. 48
B. 144
C. 180
D. 192
E. 372

Total number of students = 240
Students applied to college = 80% of 240 = \(\frac{80}{100}\) x 240 = 192
Students attending college = 75% of 192 = \(\frac{75}{100}\) x 192 = 144
Answer B...

0.8 * 0.75 = 0.60

hence 60% of 240 attend to college.

0.60*240 = 144 -> B
