Important Rule: if two inequalities have inequality symbols facing the same direction, we can add the inequalities

For example: 4 < 7 and 1 < 10
So, we can add them to get: 4 + 1 < 7 + 10

Since x > y and a > b have inequality symbols facing the same direction, we can add the inequalities to get: x + a > y + b

Answer: D

All other options are wrong and D makes sense

When there is an inequality like x>y, then we can clearly say that x-y > 0
Similarly for the other inequality a>b, we can say the same a-b > 0

Hence, we can come to the conclusion that x+a - (y+b) > 0

This will give x+a > y+b(Option D)
