Given:
- • Percent of the funds, for highway maintenance, that came from different sources
To find:
- • Percent of the funds, for highway maintenance, that came from the tax on tires
Approach and Working:
- • Sum of all percentages = 100
- o Implies, 72 + x + 12 + (x + 4) = 100
o 2x + 4 = 16
Therefore, the percent of the funds, for highway maintenance, that came from the tax on tires = 6%
Hence, the correct answer is option B.
