The perks of memorising fractions to percentage
Always memorize few fractions
: 1/2 , 1/3 , 1/4 , 1/5 , 1/7 (rare) , 1/11 (rare)

Trick for 1/7 = 14.28
7*2 = 14 ... 14*2 =28

Once you memorize these fractions you can get almost all the fractions from 1/20 which are more than what GMAC asks.

Back to the question.
The moment I see 12.5% , I remember that this is half of 25 % , that means half of 1/4 = 1/8.

So (3*1/8 + 6*1/4)/9
Looks complicated isn't it?!

3/8 + 3/2 = 15/8
15/(8*9) = 15/72

Now 7.2 is 10% of 72
14.4 is 20% of 72
Therefore 15 will be slightly more than 20% .. option C
