Given: f(n + 3) = f(n)
So, for example, f(1 + 3) = f(1)
In other words, f(4) = f(1)
Likewise, f(5) = f(2)
And f(6) = f(3)
And f(7) = f(4)
And f(8) = f(5)
etc
ASIDE: Notice that -1 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 8
So, f(-1) = f(2) = f(5) = f(8)
We're told that f(-1) = 6, so it must also be the case that f(2) = 6, f(5) = 6, and f(8) = 6
Answer: E

f(-1) = 6, f(0) = 5, f(1) = 4 and f(n + 3) = f(n). By using all these information, we need to find f(8).
n=-1 => f(-1+3)=f(-1) => f(2)= f(-1) => f(2)=6
n=0 => f(0+3)=f(0) =>f(3)=5
Similarly,
When n=1, f(4)=4
n=2, f(5)=6
n=3, f(6)=5
n=4, f(7)=4
n=5, f(8)=6
Note: After f(5), you can notice the trend in answers. From f(2) the answers are 6, 5, 4, 6..... so by counting the rest based on this trend, you can find the answer for f(8).
Anyways, the answer is option E.
