In a village 40% of the men are above 25-years of age. Among these, 50% are married and 60% of these married men have at least one kid. If there are a total of 72000 men who are at most 25-year-old, how many of the married men does not have any kids?

A. 9600
B. 14400
C. 19200
D. 28800
E. 81600

72000 men age < 25-year-old

40% of the men are above 25-years of age means 60% of the men are below 25 years of age

60% of men = 72000 men
40% of men= \(\frac{72000*40}{60}\)=48000 men of age above 25 years

Among these, 50% are married

married men = \(\frac{48000}{2}\)= 24000 men

Among this married men only 60% of men have at least one kid but we asked for the number of married men who do not have any kids that is 40% of married men

100%= 24000
40%= \(\frac{24000*40}{100}\) = 9600 men

40% of men are above 25 years old, so 100-40=60% men are below 25 years old.

Let total men be x
60% of x= 72000
x=120000

40% of x = 40% of 120000 = 48000
Men who are married= 50% of 48000 = 24000
Men who have atleast one kid= 60% of 24000=14400

Married men who don’t have kids= 24000-14400=9600

Answer: A
