Since a man does as much work as 2 boys, we can extrapolate that 9 men would do the work for 18 boys.
Hence, 12 men and 18 boys will be 21 men who complete the work in 450 hours(\(\frac{15}{2}\) hours in a day for 60 days)
We have 21 men but need to do twice the work in 450 hours(9 hours in a day for 50 days).
The question asked is how many additional boys are needed to finish the work.
In order to complete twice the work, we would need 21 more men to complete the work. Since
a man does twice the work a boy does, we would need 21*2 = 42 boys to complete the work.
Therefore, 42 boys(Option B) would be needed in addition to the 21 men to finish twice the original work.

12 men and 18 boys, working 7.5 hours a day, can do a piece of work in 60 days.
From this info, you can find how many hours does it take to finish this task: 60x7.5 hours
a man works equal to 2 boys, that means 12 men = 24 boys, additionally, we have 18 boys, so total boys=42
Total hours for one boy= (60x7.5 / 42) hours
For another task, we have 21 men = 42 boys
21 men to do twice the work in 50 days, working 9 hours a day --> total hours required to finish this task = 50 x 9 hours
It takes (60x7.5 / 42) hours for 1 boy
For 50 x 9 hours how many boys?
= (50 x 9) / (60x7.5 / 42) = 42 boys
Now the work is twice, then we require 2 times boys= 42x2 = 84boys
Then we require 21 men and 42 boys. So the answer is B.
