At a certain college there are 4 freshmen for every 3 sophomores and 15 sophomores for every 12 juniors. If there are 24 juniors, how many freshmen are there?
4F=3S
15S=12J

Hence, 20F=15S=12J
24J=__F?
Hence, 40F=30S=24J

Hence, Option (D)

4F=3S
15S=12J
20F=15S

15*2=24J
20F*2=15*2S
40F=30S=24J

Answer must be some M40, the only option is D.

The ratio of freshmen to sophomores is 4:3
The ratio of sophomores to juniors is 15:12
To get the ratio of freshmen to sophomores to juniors we do 5(4:3) and we get 20:15 now we can see in both ratios sophomores are 15 so now we can make a ratio of 20:15:12 now as we know there are 24 juniors to find total we do 12x = 24,x = 2
So now 20*2 = 40

Answer :D
