Let's assume that the common ratio is x
\(\frac{2x + 3x + 4x }{ 3 = 18}\)
\(\frac{9x }{ 3} = 18\)
\(3x = 18\)
\(x = 6\)
Age of the youngest member = \(6*2 = 12\)

Average age as 18 means the sum of the ages is 3*18 or 54.
2:3:4 ratio can be written as numerical values 2x, 3x and 4x, where x is common ratio. Thus, the sum of the three ages is 2x+3x+4x or 9x.
This gives us 9x=54 or x=6.
The youngest is 2x or 2*6 or 12
