3^x*5^y = 1125 (9X 125)
=> 3^x*5^y = 3^2*5^3
hence X is 2

(1) 3^x*5^y = 1125
using prime factorisation --> 1125 = 3*3*5*5*5, hence, 1125 = 3^2*5^3
therefore, x=2.
St (1) is sufficient, hence, answer choices AD remaining [BCE are eliminated]
(2) y = 3
This does not say anything about x. From question info all we know is that x has to be a positive integer.
Therefore, infinite values are possible for x.
St (2) is insufficient, hence, D is eliminated.
Option A is the correct choice.
