What is the product of two prime numbers X and Y, which are both two-digit numbers?

(1) Sum of X and Y is 28.

(2) Both X and Y are greater than 7.

Question is not clear! if one assumes that question is dealing only with 2 digit prime numbers, then answer is A otherwise answer would be C.

Thank you
Arjun

You are correct that the answer is A. The question actually is clear, but I could see how it could be misunderstood.

The question tells us that X and Y are both prime numbers and are both two digit numbers. The question then asks us what the product is of X and Y.

Hope this clears it up!

I got your point but do you think GMAT would come up with such questions that create confusion to a test taker? if yes, I should better improve the way I analyse these type of wordy questions.

It's important to be able to understand what the question is asking. I'm not sure the source of this problem, but try to stick to OG questions. If you don't have trouble with the sentences from OG questions, then you should be fine.
