Machines A, B, and C produced identical bottles at different constant rates. In the first 2 hours, A alone operated and filled a part of the entire production lot; then B alone operated for 3 hours and filled another part of the entire lot, and finally, C alone operated for 4 hours and filled the rest of the entire lot. Which of the three machines filled the greatest part of the entire lot?

Actually c is the answer . With statement 1 and 2 we get the ratio of all the Maxine rates .
Once we have the ratio we know times and hence it’s sufficient to answer which one has done greater work . Although rates multiplied by time gives us answer as 12x in all three machine case , we have a definite answer that all 3 machines did equal work , no one was greater so c can be accepted as. Answer though on the contrary it may be tempting to think otherwise here

T(A) = 2 hours
T(B) = 3 hours
T(C) = 4 hours
Totalwork = 2Ratea + 3Rateb + 4Ratec = 1
Statement 1
a/b = 3/2 --> 2a = 3b
Clearly insufficient b/c we don't know what c's rate is
Statement 2
b/c = 4/3 --> 3b = 4c
Clearly insufficient b/c we don't know a's rate
Combined:
We know that twice the rate of a is equal to thrice the rate of b, i.e. a >b. Since thrice the rate of b is equal to four times the rate of c, we know that the rate of a is also greater than the rate of c.
a > b > c
Not really sure to be honest why I even set the totalwork formula. It would have been possible to solve either way.

Statement 1: It provides information about only machines A and B, we don't know about machine C. Now with the given information, we cannot calculate which machine produces the highest number of bottles.
For example:
With the given ratio of A and B, for every three bottles produced by machine A, machine B produces 2 bottles. If, for example, the comparative of third machine ratio is A : B : C = 3 : 2 : 5. In this case machine C will fill the greatest part of the lot but if the ratio is A : B : C = 3 : 2 : 1 in this case machine A will fill the greatest part of the lot. So we cannot answer.
Statement 2: Same as statement 1 we cannot answer.
Combing the statements: Now we know that the ratio of
A:B = 3:2
B:C = 4:3
To calculate the comparative ratio we can write:
A : B : C = 3 : 2 : 3/2 (to equalize B to 2 we have divided the ratio of C by 2) OR
A : B : C = 6 : 4 : 3 (to equalize B to 4 we have multiplied the ratio of A by 2, it works in any way)
Clearly, A > B > C we now can answer that machine A produces the highest number of bottles.
Answer: C
