How much water did the swimming pool have initially, if there was left 400 cubic meters of water after the emptying pipe has been open for an hour?

1) There were 250 cubic meters of water after the emptying pipe has been open for four hours
2) 50 cubic meters of water per hour can flow through the emptying pipe

We are basically looking for the speed of the pipe.

1) There were 250 cubic meters of water after the emptying pipe has been open for four hours
So 400-250 or 150 has been emptied in 4-1 or 3 hours, making the speed of the pipe 50 cum per hour.
Answer- 400+50 or 250+4*50 or 450 cum.

2) 50 cubic meters of water per hour can flow through the emptying pipe
Here the speed is 50 cum per hour, so the answer is 400+50=450 cum as 50 cum was taken out in one hour.

D

All these works if it is given that the pool was in its full capacity. How do we know whether the pool was initially fully filled?
