If (j,k) has to lie on given line y = 3x+11, substituting for (j,k), equation would be 3j-k+11 = 0.

1) expression in the 1st bracket can be zero, meaning, (j,k) lies on the given line. However, the other case is where the 2 nd expression in the bracket can be 0 as well. Hence, no certainty of (j,k) on the given line

2) even if any of the expressions in the 2 brackets were supposed to be zero, they cannot be rearranged to obtain 3j-k = 11. Hence, no certainty over determining if (j,k) lies on the given line.
