I would advise retaking GMAT one more time targeting at least 700. Ms programs usually do not give scholarships and low GMAT may mean no scholarship at all

Hi,
I am from India and I would like to receive a profile evaluation. I'm planning to apply for MIM in LBS, Warwick, HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, IE in January round

Age: 23
Bachelor degree: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (CGPA 6.2) (university of Mumbai)
IELTS: 8
GMAT: Expected: 700+ ; I took an official test and I got 690 with a Q45 and V40

CV: Business development intern at AIESEC mumbai
Research intern at IIT Roorkee (developed VR simulation platform for with phd candidates for Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) India)
Developmet intern at Teach For India as part of the national development team of the organisation I was responsible to support them grow funding base.

Co curricular: Team leader in coordinating committee for organizing tech fest in college
Worked as a freelance photographer and designer for organizations and online media bloggers for designing marketing campaign

Professional Certifications: Google Professional Data Analytics certificate
Google fundamentals of Digital marketing course
IBM Data Science Professional certificate

Personal Project undertaken: Build AR app to make artwork in 3D in augmented relaity on android (final year college projct)
Movie Recommendation Engine (part of IBM Data Science Professional certificate)

Apart from this I also have international volunteer experience through AIESEC mumbai and I have also volunteered during lockdown for the pandemic causes with a local NGO.
My major concern is the low gpa and would i be able to properly explain it in essay. (One of the reason for is that after high school I had gotten in Penn state university for UG programme in USA but because of a personal family issue I didnt go and stayed back. So in that I almost wasted my First year of college in India)

Another concern is that, I was supposed to graduate in March 2020 but because of covid it got deferred to December 2020. So i have a gap in my application. so will that gap affect (i did online course in the mean time)

Hello raju1212,

You have a lot of story to tell. From AIESEC to your internships and projects. Interesting to see your interests ranging from research to Data Science. I am sure you can put all these together and put a good story.

Its always best to be honest about the gaps. If the graduation was deferred due to COVID - I am sure the school understands that. What is more important is to showcase how you utilised your time.

Low GPA can be addressed through GMAT Score. Aim for a higher score. For most schools except for may be HEC and LBS if you are around 690-700 it might be a stretch. This is completely based on the competition you are going to face applying to these schools.

Here are some motivating stories of people who got through ESSEC , HEC , LBS programs.

Let me know if you need any help, you can PM me.

rgds,
Shree
