Hi,
So I just wrote a GMAT prep test. With less than 7 days to go to the real test, I scored a 640 with a Q49 and V28. Also 5 on 8 in IR.

Can anyone here guide me as to how I should improve my verbal score? Is an improvement in such a short time possible to cross the 700 mark?
I think my main problem in verbal is SC.

Please offer you advice as to how I do things to score 700+ in the real GMAT!

Hi Daksh,

Don't just give up. Try hard and attempt solving maximum SC questions before your GMAT. Moreover don't get panicked seeing the questions. Just relax and do well. Improvement is definitely possible provide you shed your intuition that "SC is problematic".

You need more time to actually develop a strategy and enhance your score meaningfully.

Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum,but i have a similar problem.

My GMAT is on the 20th of Aug.Now,I have taken a few GMAT Mocks and clearly I am coming short on the Verbal part.
I am scoring in the range of 35-39.Amazingly the test where I got V39,I messed up my QA and could only get 620. :oops:

After reviewing my Verbal scores,I understood that I was doing badly in SC.
I wanted to know from all GMAT Clubbers,if there could be a level of accuracy in SC,that could be targeted.For example,one can expect a 100% accuracy in 600+ questions while,maybe a 70-80% accuracy for 700+ might be enough.

Also,I have been practising from the OG as well as the OG for Verbal Review 2nd Ed.Is there any way of segregating the SC questions based on difficulty in those books,so that i practice more of the 700+ questions.

Hopefully if I can reach this accuracy level,I can cross V40,as I feel I am doing reasonably well in RC and CR.

get familiar with the underlying concepts of SC and practice as many questions as possible before re-taking the GMAT.

In my opinion SC is the easiest verbal part because there are many clear and easy rules you have to learn and apply. That will boost your score
