I will be taking the GMAT in May '19. My target school in India does not start the admission process till March. If I send my GMAT score in May, will it be beneficial?

Hi Shambo23,

When you take the Official GMAT, you have the option to send that Score result to up to 5 Schools - however, you have to choose those Schools right before you begin your Exam. When you select a School, you're granting that School access to your Report online. Schools won't bother to look at your Score(s) until you actually send in an application though. You don't have to select any Schools (for example, you might want to see your result first before you decide whether to pay to have it available to Schools later). However, you can save some money by selecting 5 Schools on the day of your Exam (since there is a fee for each Report later on - currently $28 per Report per School).

Since your Test Date is coming up, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) What is your goal score?
3) When is your exact Test Date?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Shambo23,

While there are no issues with sending your GMAT score before any application deadlines, I wouldn’t say doing so is “beneficial.” As mentioned, schools likely won’t consider your GMAT score until you’ve submitted your application.

Do you need any advice regarding your upcoming GMAT?

Hello everyone. I’m new to GMAT. I have a query. The GMAT website says the percentile scores are given in the official gmat score report. But I’ve seen images on the net that has percentiles given on the unofficial score report as well. I’m a bit confused as to what the unofficial report will have.

The school I'm applying to requires me to put up the scores and percentile for quant, verbal and IR but not AWA. The last day to update the scores are Jan 20th, and I'm planning to attempt the GMAT around the 8th of Jan. Will I get the percentiles in the unofficial report?

Thanks

Hi Madhav,

You will receive your official score report in a week. So, you don't have to worry about that as you have 12 days time to submit your score after you take the test on Jan 8th.

Hi madhavpubby,

Yes, your unofficial score report will contain percentiles, so even if you do not receive your official score by the application deadline, you'll have the information you need to submit.
