Try applying with 635 for first round for few schools. I mean your profile will be taken into consideration holistically. And you can meanwhile plan on your reattempt within 2 months or however it’s feasible for you. Just ensure that you don’t miss application deadlines.

Hi R_S,

I have an important queston. Do you know the average GMAT score at your desired schools?

Hey Scott

I am aware of the av gmat score at my desired colleges and know mine is lesser than that. I thought to seek some advice here as a few admission consultants I talked to told me that I dont need to reattempt , rather I should focus on profile building now as its a decent score.
I have decided to reattempt now.

While your sectional split itself will not be an issue for ISB, it would indeed do good to your overall chances of admission, if you can bump up your current score by 20+ points.

Hi Experts

My score is V91, Q84 and DI77, overall 635. I am a pharma graduate with 5+ years of work ex in 2 different sectors, I am targeting ISB and IIMs for 1-year programs, should I consider a reattempt? I am especially concerned about my low DI score.

Looking forward to some insights!
Thanks

Edit - there was an error in above mentioned score, it is total-635, Q-83, V-84,D-77.
Yes retake, you can do better on DI and get to at least 79 if you manage nerves and your time. Assuming you can replicate the quant and verbal score you will do better, may be write a few more practice exams.

What was the order you took the exam in? Was DI last? May be the exam was giving you harder problems than normal if you did well on the previous sections? I got a V84 and attempted DI right after, my DI was extra hard with graphs I had never seen before and MSR was a mix of sampling and probability so as long as you know which questions to ditch you will improve.

If you would post your questions or ESR or score report may be there will be more insights there?

I think you can go up to 655 if you take again, 635 is very close to 90th percentile so you may want to try again assuming this was your first attempt.

Good luck.
