Got an email on friday from adcom at Rice asking me to send in another recommendation since my supervisor did not check that he was my direct supervisor on the recommendation letter. He's called and sent an email clarifying his position as my current, direct supervisor. I've also emailed back the adcom about the situation and have indicated that i'm happy to provide a second letter.
I don't blame my supervisor as he has never sent out recommendation letters for business schools before, so couldn't have known that the verbiage would be important in this case. I'm just really anxious and stressed out as it was an unexpected delay in processing my application, and I was pretty confident that Rice would be one of my "safer" schools at least in getting an interview invite. I've put a lot of effort this past year as a re-applicant, improving my candidacy like retaking GMAT, getting better job, showing leadership, etc. I'm just really worried that this recommendation letter misunderstanding will reflect badly upon my overall application, and ultimately tank my chances at a dream school. Any thoughts on how the adcom will take in all this? Is this something to seriously worry about?
