Hi,
Could someone please evaluate my profile for LBS and Said
I just took gmat but not satisfied with my final score. Have booked date for next attempt.
Gender and Age: M,31
Acads : 10th and 12th - 80% and 75%
BTech - 67% from Jaypee Noida in 2011
GMAT- 680(q48,v35) (Working it to take beyond 700)
Work experience: 8.5 years
With Leading IT service company.
Working as Software Quality Lead In Investment Banking domain leading large and complex Trading platform for multiple financial product.
Managed small teams, designed and implemented solution.
Managed work relationships with market participants and
International experience of 5 years in Singapore and London and still in London.
Reason for MBA:
Short term goals : To move into corporate strategy ,relationship management or product management in IT or Finance .
Long term goal of taking leader ship roles in IT services or Financial Services.
I have gained good experience and knowledge on Banks and its IT systems.
Working with various stakeholders, i have gained both bottom-up and top-down view of product development in Banks and financial institutions.
I feel that I am now better placed to lead large projects, client and teams in a more effective way.
Please let me know in case of more queries.

Thanks for sharing your profile with us! While I understand your desire to retake the GMAT and aim for 700+, I'd say that overall your academic stats look pretty good for LBS and Said.
The two points that jump out most for me with your profile are:
(1) The importance of highlighting your soft skills (leadership, people management, relationship management) as a counterweight to your technical background and roles to date. Business school is designed to train future business leaders, so it's very important to demonstrate not only your knowledge of software product development but also your ability to work with teams of people and to assess business problems and solutions. I recommend focusing on examples from your career that point to your people management experience, not just your technical achievements.
(2) Your age and career tenure. By the time you matriculate, you'll be well above the average age for a full-time MBA program. While that isn't necessarily a negative trait by itself, you'll want to make sure you have a very compelling argument for how doing an MBA at this point in your career will give you a real professional boost. Most of your classmates will be at an earlier career stage, so you need to convince admissions committees that you're not *too* experienced at this point to derive a lot of benefit from an MBA.

Background: 28 year old Singaporean male
GMAT: 700 - Q45, V41, IR6; still awaiting my AWA but expecting a 6.0 (3rd sitting, first 2 yielded a 640 - the most recent one had a split of Q48 V29 and my mocks had nothing lesser than Q49 and Q50, so you can imagine how frustrated I am with my Quant. Kicking myself for this, but I'll save the whining for another post on another thread)
GPA: 4.0/4.0 (First Class Honours)
Education: BSc. and MSc. in Information Mgmt. for Business (University College London)
Work Experience: Close to 3 years as a Business Analyst in IT. Have led a couple of projects on my own from start to finish, bolstered my CV with some certifications to boot (Accenture, then an MNC headquartered in SG currently)
Extra-Curricular Activities: Competitive sports, volunteered with my present organisation overseas,
International exposure: Completed tertiary education overseas, a number of volunteer missions to underdeveloped countries since Secondary school days.
Post MBA Goal - Move into Strategy consulting (MBB is the target), then make a shift to Product Management within the FinTech space.
Personality: Extremely personable individual. People-oriented person. Resilient and logical problem solver. Officer in the Armed Forces.
