Hi--
Thanks for stopping by! Nice job getting the initial GMAT under your belt. A 690 is quite respectable and in line with many of the schools on your list. That said, since you mentioned having plenty of time, schools DO take the highest score and it's not uncommon to take it more than once.... so giving it one more shot is something to consider, which could make an impact, and also help since your GPA may be slightly lower than the average at some of the schools. If you do re-take, I'd suggest sooner rather than later if you've been prepping recently so it's still fresh. There's a standard margin of error on the exam anyway so sometimes just a different day or mindset can help you improve too.
Your school list seems reasonable and generally appropriate for your marketing interest. Could also look at Ross a bit. And in general since you're thinking ahead (which is a great thing!), areas to focus on in the coming year or so might include...
-GMAT
-research into your post-MBA career plans (even setting up 'informational interviews' with professionals and/or HR reps at companies you may consider, to gain more insight)
-research about specific b-schools (including visits, speaking with students/alum if feasible)
-working hard on the job and aiming to make an impact, demonstrate leadership & teamwork, and build networks and relationships
-consider community involvement
-start brainstorming about your key strengths and experiences and what you'd contribute to the class
Best wishes for the future!
