[quote="farrah12"]Hi guys,
I'm in IT background (WE 8+), and got offers with similar money from Rady, Merage, Owen, and Carlson. Immediate post of MBA, I would like to be a product line manger in IT companies.
UCSD: Business week ranking 51 in 2014, famous for faculty repuation and entrepreneur concentration. Only concern it's too new for alumni, job placement, etc.
UCI Merage: Business week ranking 31 in 2014, good location, good reputation in local areas. Not sure others like job placement.
Owen: Business week ranking 30 in 2014. location seems not good as UCSD and UCI. But job placement is very good.
Carlson: business week ranking 36. location not very attractive, but seems its marketing very strong.
I'm an international application. I would like to stay in US post of my MBA study.
What are the IT firms that you are targetting? As far as I know, there are many global It firms that do not hire international students. For example - Accenture, IBM (Not sure if it does hire). Cognizant, infosys hire intl. students. So, first of all, you should look at the companies that hire at all these schools. Then speak to a few current students (probably international second years but they l be too busy with the recruiting process) and confirm whther those companies hire intl students or not.
Moreover, you should also confirm from the students/adcoms/career services whther your target firms recruit for product management roles or not. For example - In some schools, Accenture hires only for federal consulting and not for any technology management. So, check this as well.
Once you have all these details, probably then you l be in much better position to make a choice. If I were you, I would go with Owen or carlson (based on my research on these schools). Yes, minneapolis is bitter cold but very attractive location for prospective recruiters. Same is nashville. Nothing wrong with the locations. Dont make your decision based on numbers mentioned in BW, FT.
