Hi Friends,
Hoping for some advice here. I got admitted to UMD and Ohio State a few weeks ago and i cannot decide which to choose. I'd like to go into management consulting with the possibility of some courses in business analytics and data modeling.
Maryland is offering me a graduate assistantship and a stipend of $7k for my first year as well as $10k my second year.
Ohio State is offering $10k.
What to do?????????

Congratulations. If I were you, I would choose UMD
First of all, there is a great TED talk about making hard choices. Its called "how to make hard choices" given by Ruth Chang. You can search for it on google I highly recommend watching it, it will give you a new perspective on how to decide between two hard choices. (I won't link.. maybe rules against it on this forum) But it is going to guide you in how you think when choosing between 2 things.
I think taking a look at this video will help you greatly.
But honestly. The schools you have mentioned are similar. It would really depend on where you would like to live. Would you like to live in the DC area, or Ohio?
That should be the biggest factor in your decision.
IF you dont mind, then I say go with UMD. Being near the DC location will give you access to a lot more opportunity than if you were in Ohio. From UMD you can take the metro and DC is just 1 hour away (total time traveled).
