So I have been admitted to both McDonough (Georgetown)
$0 & Questrom (BU)
$80K. I also carry 50K debt from previous two degrees.
My background is microbiology Latin American studies in undergrad with Masters in public health. Started an e-commerce venture at 15 and also been working in the public health sector as a project coordinator for a NIH study based in Florida on the side. So I have quite the unique and nontraditional background which might have helped in admissions process but am afraid it might hurt me in seeking a job post-mba.
Short term goals. Short term work in consulting or marketing in the healthcare/pharma sector or work on social impact initiatives for a large company. (open to either)
Long term IF I dont like consulting is to start a social impact venture with public health impact (international focus).
BU has a very strong health sector program with decent international exposure but being admitted into the health sector program limits my marketability to just one industry. McDonough has a a very strong international focus and being in DC ill have public health sector opportunities at my finger tips.
Name recognition. The BU brand isnt selling it for me. Having a brother from Wharton (consulting) and getting advice from him and his colleagues school brand can be important in opening doors and gaining interviews and with my unique background I dont want to be left out without finding a job post graduation if I go to a school many dont know enough about, but am also aware name isnt everything.
I'm truly in a pickle and don't know how to choose. My heart and gut telling me one thing but my adult financially responsible self is telling me otherwise. Where do I gain more value????
SO do I spend 15-25K or 120K+
thanks
